Off Duty With Private Presley 100 Page Book / CD From MRS : 50 Year Commemorative Issue

The 'Memphis Recording Service' will release Off Duty With Private Presley on February 22, 2010 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Elvis Presley’s discharge from the army in 1960. This book / CD set is in the same format, only even better than, the Tupelo Welcomes Home Elvis Presley set. As part of this audio/visual release, the accompanying 100 page book has many rare and stunning photographs, many of which are unreleased and seen here for the first time. It includes informative text and historical facts focussing on Elvis' time in the US Army from his induction in 1958, to his discharge in 1960. The CD contains recordings made during Elvis’ time off duty whilst in the army with such classic’s as A Big Hunk O’ Love, A Fool Such As I and I Got Stung. It also has 30 Unreleased tracks privately recorded by Elvis while stationed in the US and Germany. These recordings are released officially for the first time to the public.

I received an advance copy of the book 'Baby, Let's Play House - Elvis Presley and the Women Who Loved Him' and have to report to you that it does NOT deserve reading as it contains lies about Elvis, unsubstantiated claims and allegations from unreliable sources such as Byron Raphael and Child Bride author Suzanne Finstad who is credited for 'fact checking chapters', which is a joke in itself. And totally uncalled for explicit discussion of very private matters. So for all those that have emailed me in the past months saying we should not be reporting on her book, you were correct! It is such a shame, but this book is trash, Alanna's Trash.

Praytome Publishing have released details of their Multimedia-Box-Set (By Bud Glass and Praytome Publishing). Released in cooperation with the Follow That Dream 2-CD set, Dixieland Delight which features concert performances from May 31, 1975 and June 1, 1975 in Huntsville, Alabama. With so much information about the shows and hundreds of different photos that cover the performances, it would not have been fair to squeeze the existing material into a single book with 144 pages. So the production crew came up with the idea of a package that absolutely deserves the expression of 'a true collector's item', The Multimedia-Box-Set.
