Elvis : The Gospel Collection is a great collection of gospel songs. The CD has 16 selections, both studio and live versions of How Great Thou Art and a couple of surprises. The first is the live medley performance of three gospel songs, not available elsewhere in this sequence, Help Me (Live); Why Me Lord (Live); How Great Thou Art (Live) and O Little Town of Bethlehem is from the Elvis Christmas Duets CD with Karen Fairchild & Kimberly Schlapman (uncredited). The sound quality is incredible. Sony outdid themselves with this CD release.

An exceptional CD; buy it.

With the inclusion of O Little Town of Bethlehem from the Elvis Christmas Duets CD with Karen Fairchild & Kimberly Schlapman (which is uncredited apart from singled out for copyright 2008) this would seem to back up our thinking that the three songs Winter Wonderland, The First Noel and If I Get Home On Christmas Day on the Blue Christmas CD that are also credited to 2008 are unused overdubbed tracks from the Christmas Duets sessions. And this is no problem Winter Wonderland as you can hear in the sample below.

Sony Music have released the CD, 'Blue Christmas'. The CD features 16 tracks with three being clearly different with new orchestra string arrangements. And sounding very nice. Winter Wonderland, The First Noel and If I Get Home On Christmas Day. As each has the year 2008 after the title it maybe these are taken from unused overdubbed tracks from the Christmas Duets release in 2008. However there is a credit 'Thanks to Roger Semon and FTD' so they may have provided some alternate takes. But they do sound more like overdubs, but from 1971 or 2008? Released at the same time is the Elvis : The Gospel Collection CD.
