It's possible that the quotes attributed to Jack Soden are an out-of-context amalgamation of quotes from interviews given a few years ago when tourism was in a slump nationwide and there had been a sudden further drop in travel immediately following 9/11. Some quotes also seem to be completely fabricated. The fact is that tourism nationally has been on the upswing. Visitorship to Graceland is very strong and is on a very healthy, steady rise. All is well at Graceland. Lisa is not moving in. Lisa has not ordered exhibit enhancements. Actually, our staff recently enhanced all the Elvis exhibits as part of our year-long commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of Rock 'n' Roll and the 50th Anniversary of the start of Elvis' career.
About once a year since the 1980s, there has been a tabloid story somewhere in the world saying that Lisa is closing Graceland or moving in or something like that. This always touches off a rash of calls and mail.
