The first thing that draws your attention on holding the Elvis '77 : The Final Curtain set is the look, the presentation artwork is like never before. It is extremely well made, with high quality binding and workmanship. But with this set there is so much more to 'distract' the Elvis fan, on further inspection you will find two DVDs flush on the inside of the front cover and two more on the back cover. The first most will go for is the 1977 CBS TV Special, and that made its way into my DVD player really quickly. Updated 22/1/11.

Long-sought by fans, ''Elvis' made its overdue DVD debut Tuesday, on the Shout! Factory label. The disc offers the full 148-minute 'theatrical' version that played in cinemas overseas, and includes a commentary track from Ronnie McDowell, who supplied Russell's 'Elvis' singing voice, and author Edie Hand.

Made in 1979, just two years after Presley's death, 'Elvis' is a high-class exercise in hagiography, presenting the musical legend as his fans would want to remember him.

If you don't think of Elvis Presley as a romantic guy, then your mind will be quickly changed by an enlightening new DVD, Love Me Tender ... The Love Songs of Elvis Presley. If you were around during Elvis' prime, you already know he possessed one of the most charismatic personalities in modern music.

This is the long awaited DVD officially released by Elvis Presley Enterprises. After watching this I found it 'worthwhile' and in understanding Elvis an essential purchase, especially when you understand the man studied several styles for two decades and took it VERY seriously from 1960-1974.

For all his accomplishments, perhaps Elvis Presley's greatest, and unknown legacy was his enormous generosity, unknown until now. With the use of new interviews, on-location filming, classic footage and photos, Elvis A Generous Heart takes you through the history of a shy, humble country boy always ready to share his love, and treasures, with friends, family and even complete strangers. For the hardcore Elvis fan there is perhaps too much same old. But the new material and unseen footage on offer go a long way, offering a new insight and appreciation of the world's greatest entertainer.

Elvis is quite good here in King Creole, bringing an obviously heartfelt and earnest, restless energy to his role that no doubt was encouraged by Curtiz.

He Touched Me: The Gospel Music of Elvis Presley. Brilliant, sincere, touching could all be used to describe this two part documentary and no more would need to be said but then again the purpose of a review is to give the reader an in-depth description of what is being reviewed. This two part documentary, narrated by Sander Vanocur, is definitely a labor of love and the sincerity of all involved shines through time and time again.

The Elvis By The Presleys DVD set is an entertaining, informative biography that belongs in the collection of anyone who considers themselves to be an Elvis fan. It also serves as an important document of 20th Century pop culture.

In a memorable line from I'll Remember You, Elvis sings 'I'll return to stay' to his beloved. Although its not in the living, breathing way most of us would prefer, Elvis: Aloha From Hawaii skillfully preserves one of the legendary performer's last triumphs forever.

In the summer of 1970, a slim strong-voiced Elvis performed a live show for four weeks at the International Hotel in Las Vegas. The result was that the world fell in love again with Elvis and his music. He gave his fans the show of a lifetime in these performances, including songs from his beginnings such as All Shook Up, and Hound Dog, all the way to his final #1 hit Suspicious Minds.

Review of Elvis Presley - Paternity Suit. Mr. Glass's research is well documented and presented in a sequential order. This sequential order definitely for me pointed out the strategy used by Mr. Paul Caruso the lawyer for Ms. Parker, to literally push Elvis to the point of settling out of court just to save his sanity.

Elvis Presley - Paternity Suit - The whole case lasted for more than 6 years in Elvis' life and was not such a small thing as most people thought. This set reveals information which was totally ignored until now.

Elvis Presley: The Ed Sullivan Shows is an amazing, full record of three historic moments in Elvis Presley's and Ed Sullivan's careers. Instead of just giving us the isolated Presley performances, Elvis Presley: The Ed Sullivan Shows gives fans of vintage TV just what they want: entire programs, including their commercials. I highly recommend Elvis Presley: The Ed Sullivan Shows.

It's the late afternoon of June 27th, 1968; the clock is a few minutes shy of 6pm. Backstage at NBC Studios, the air is fraught with tension as 33-year-old rock legend Elvis Aron Presley sits in his dressing room sweating profusely-and it's not entirely caused by the custom-made leather outfit he's wearing.

Sandwiched between Jailhouse Rock (1957) and GI Blues (1960), King Creole endures as one of the best Elvis Presley musicals ever made. This DVD from Paramount mirrors the virtues of its acclaimed US cousin, with a great video transfer and a boisterous Dolby Digital 5.1 mix lead by the centre channel.

One of the great things about reviewing television programs as part of my job is getting to see the shows before they go to air, often in a more intact state than when they finally are telecast. So, I should tell you that this review is based on the full version of 'Elvis The Early Years'. By the time Channel Ten airs it in Australia on November 6, over 30 minutes will have been cut. And, to be honest, that can only be a good thing: the less that is seen of this production, the better as far as I'm concerned.

Another feature of the first film is upheld by the continued musical presence of Elvis Presley. Nearly every time there is a montage, the film makes efforts to weave in another Presley song. As opposed to last time, where most were contemporary covers, these tunes are mostly sung by the King himself.

Elvis By The Presleys is the documentary about Elvis I have been waiting for. Not the familiar story, films and photo's (which are also very good) but a look behind the scenes with a lot of private home movie footage. Any Elvis fan will like this DVD, I can assure you that. It's the best documentary since This is Elvis.

With Elvis: The Birth of Rock N' Roll we clearly have what I would refer to as a repackage, meaning that the distributor, Kultur, has taken an aging documentary on Elvis Presley originally titled Elvis: The Beginning (1992) and dressed it up into something it's not.

This is a much appreciated DVD release and highly recomended. When they say "remastered for optimum sound and picture quality" they actually mean it. The sound is excellent throughout and unlike previous Loving You DVD release's, the picture is much brighter and without the depressing shadows.

There are many complex facets to the Elvis Presley story. One of the most overlooked is Elvis' incredible generosity. That oversight is corrected in an engrossing new documentary called 200 Cadillacs.

The Complete Louisiana Hayride Archives 1954-1956 CD From MRS : CD / 100 page book
The MRS / JAT Productions release of The Complete Louisiana Hayride Archives 1954-1956 CD is a dream come true but I can't as there was no anticipation something like this would ever be released. For years now we have had the basic el cheapo compilation of the basic tracks but now we have a full CD with a running time of over 75 minutes that gives a very good overview of Elvis in concert in the 1950s. This CD is presented exactly the same as the MRS releases Off Duty With Private Presley Book Deluxe CD set, Tupelo Welcomes Home Elvis Presley Deluxe CD set and Such A Night in Pearl Harbor CD and 100 page Book set.

Tupelo's Own Elvis Presley DVD + 16 page booklet. Never before have we seen an Elvis concert from the 50's with sound. Until Now! The DVD Contains recently discovered Unreleased Film of Elvis performing 6 songs, including Heartbreak Hotel and Don’t Be Cruel, live in Tupelo Mississippi 1956. Included we see a live performance of the elusive Long Tall Sally seen here for the first time ever. This is an excellent release no fan should be without it. The 'parade' footage is good to see as it puts you in the right context with color and b&w footage. The interviews of Elvis' Parents are well worth hearing too. The afternoon show footage is wonderful and electrifying : Here is Elvis in his prime rocking and rolling in front of 11.000 people.
