International – 'Showroom Internationale 1971' 2 CD Set Final Details And Release Date
Although long considered almost a forgotten year amongst Elvis fans, 1971 was nevertheless an interesting period sandwiched between the wonderful 'Elvis – That's the Way It Is' in 1970 and 'Elvis on Tour' in 1972.
Now the 'International label' that recently brought to you the lavish and critically acclaimed 'Elvis – That's the Way It Is - The Complete Works', has in conjunction with 'DAE', turned its attention to 1971 – specifically, the January / February season in Las Vegas about which little has been known or written about, over the years.
This release will feature an unreleased soundboard performance from the closing night Jan/Feb 1971 Las Vegas engagement, the February 23rd 8pm show – his penultimate appearance of that time.
The 2CD / Book set will also feature the January 28th Midnight show (previously released on the Fort Baxter label as 'Lean Mean and Kicking Butt') but this time, unlike before, is directly mastered from the original reel tapes thus clearly showing vast noticeable sound improvements to its original release.
This package is a rare treat for fans as the accompanying 100 page glossy hardback book features great unreleased photographs from the time, as well as a detailed essay encapsulating not only the actual engagement in January / February, but also helping to put this time frame into some historical perspective by looking at what went before and what came afterwards. All the audio restoration and remastering are by DAE.
This set is the same height as the TTWII set, and designed to sit next to it -- presenting well. Size --- 29.5cm high (about 12") x 15.2 wide (6") with a depth of 2.1cm (3/4")
This will be the last release from the International label and the fabulous box set release has only a limited edition run of 999 copies and is due out very soon. Final details and track listing to follow soon.

The 'parade' footage is good to see as it puts you in the right context with color and b&w footage. The interviews of Elvis' Parents are well worth hearing too. The afternoon show footage is wonderful and electrifying : Here is Elvis in his prime rocking and rolling in front of 11.000 people. Highly recommended.
