I have today talked with Wade Jones the owner of the Elvis photo from 1945 in this article and I am convinced that the image that has been released in full via Vanity Fair is exactly as he received it. And importantly Wade has pointed me to conclusive facts showing that the 'first' so called 'Photoshoped' image was made by a fan and published openly online, from there, somehow this then become 'Wade's' photo which it never was. So we go back to the experts who when asked, 'Is it real'? Is it really him?

With a modern day visit to Hawaii and an original photograph, Australian fan Alexander Attard with imagination and the help of some digital editing overlaid an original photo of Elvis in the backyard of a home in Hawaii with his recent photograph of the very same back yard.

LIFE presents a series of photos - most of which never appeared in LIFE - showing Elvis, along with his 15-year-old girlfriend, Priscilla Beaulieu, in Germany on the day he left for the States (March 2, 1960), and Elvis again at Fort Dix, New Jersey, where he landed on March 3, sans Priscilla. He was officially discharged from the Army on March 5. While Pittsburghers rang in the New Year Friday night in front of their TV sets with Guy Lombardo, 16,409 others Scorned 1977 with Elvis Presley at the Civic Arena. After three opening acts and a lengthy intermission, Presley unded on stage 35 minutes before midnight, but you would rethought the clock had struck 12. He received an ear-deafening ovation punctuated by thousands of blasts from flash bulbs and a patchwork of 'We-Love-You-Elvis' signs hoisted aloft. Presley had perhaps the most captive audience since Johnny Cash played Folsom Prison. And rarely did he lose his iron grip on the crowd during his 90 minutes on stage. At the stroke of midnight, the house lights went up and Elvis led the crowd in singing 'Auld Lang Syne'.Recently discovered 'RCA Listing Notice' for 'Love Me' EP from 1960
In December 1960, RCA was preparing a 'compact 33 EP' to be released in January 1961. But is was not to be, until now. Here we have the recently discovered piece of official RCA paperwork, an 'RCA Listing Notice' that shows the preparation for the release, assigning catalogue number 'LPC-123'. For reasons still unknown the release was withdrawn at the very last moment. The title track was 'Love Me' ...

September 12, 1957 in a black Cadillac rolls up to the Little Shamrock Cafe. In the car were musicians and a singer, they had just performed a concert in Houston and they were now on their way North, they just needed to have a little breakfast first. Aline Landrum was at work this September morning, it was she who had the honor of Elvis Presley and the servers lineage of breakfast. And Elvis Presley Eggs, bacon, cheese, coffee, pancakes, chocolate cake, and Pepsi Cola. And Aline has the photos to proove it.

David English author of the FTD book release; Welcome Home Elvis has contacted us with some extra - and very interesting - information about the book. In regard to the CD we were most interested to learn that the mono CD of Elvis Is Back, was recently found in the UK. There has been plenty of speculation as to exactly what the master was. Then we have four [4] new pages of sample text from the book. As David explains; 'The idea first came to me to write an article about the Elvis Is Back Sessions, which then became too large, and it then expanded over a period of two years. This originally consisted of mainly text of each song having a detailed history, with songwriters, musicians, (in the form of the book 'Writing for the King') The book then expanded further to include the Sinatra Timex show and now consists of the journey to Miami using original newspaper articles and photos which have probably not been seen since they were originally written.

On Monday August 15th WDVX-Radio hope to play a new recording of Elvis' concert performance from April 8, 1972 in Knoxville. The concert was part of the tour which was filmed by MGM for the movie, 'Elvis On Tour' and in honour of Elvis on the 34th anniversary of his death, WDVX-Radio will be dedicating a two hour live special devoted to the Kings music. As this picture indicates, the concert was indeed at least partly filmed.

The photo's are taken in RCA's Twenty-fourth Street studio, along with posed action shots that will be used on the back of Elvis' first album.

The other acts were said to include Pat Boone, Bill Haley and the Comets, The Four Lads and Priscilla Wright. Elvis, Scotty and Bill had also performed in Cleveland the previous evening at the Circle theater with Roy Acuff and Kitty Wells.

The 'parade' footage is good to see as it puts you in the right context with color and b&w footage. The interviews of Elvis' Parents are well worth hearing too. The afternoon show footage is wonderful and electrifying : Here is Elvis in his prime rocking and rolling in front of 11.000 people. Highly recommended.
