You Gave Me a Mountain on 'Always On My Mind' simply sound fantastic. It's midnight has the best mixing you've ever heard. The unique mix of
Separate Ways on this album is always worth a listen. But all tracks sound really 'different'. This new digipack release contains also some great rare bonus tracks!
Elvis Presley never got the chance to sing in front of a symphony orchestra. But decades after his death, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra got the chance to play behind him. Priscilla Presley worked with producers Don Reedman and Nick Patrick to combine some of Elvis' classic vocal performances with a big, lush sound. Plus, they invited special guests to join - Duane Eddy, Il Volo and Michael Buble, who sang a duet with Elvis. Anthony DeCurtis hosts this one-hour special that chronicles how the project came about through interviews with Priscilla, Don, Nick and Michael, and it features a lot of music.

'
Elvis Golden Records Vol. 3' is a new 2-CD release in the
Follow That Dream (FTD) labels
classic album series. It features a 7" digipack with 12-page booklet. By the time Elvis' Golden Records Vol. 3 was released in August 1963, no one in rock 'n' roll up to that point, other than Elvis, had ever legitimately earned a second 'greatest hits' volume, much less a third. It also embodied the best commercial examples of Presley's new post-Army maturity, as both vocalist and musician, and the songs featured on this album achieved an unparalleled level of global chart success by any artist between 1960 and 1963.
Follow That Dream (FTD) will release '
Elvis In Alabama' (Last Double Date) a two concert set in December. The double CD set, in 5" digpack, contains
soundboard recordings (mixing desk) the afternoon and evening shows in Huntsville on September 6, 1976 and includes

had been thinking more and more that the key lay in the connection between the races, in what they had in common far more than what kept them apart. There were always going to be 'some bastard white people', he knew, but far more to the point was the spiritual connection that he had always known to exist between black and white, the cultural heritage that they all shared. 'Not to copy each other but to just - hey, this is all we've got and we're going to give it to you. This is our Broadway play. This is our Tin Pan Alley. This is what it is. We hope you likeit'.
Sam Phillips: The Man Who Invented Rock 'n' Roll is a 45-track 2 x CD companion to Peter Guralnick's forthcoming
biography of the same name, and a personal, idiosyncratic survey of one of the most important bodies of work in recording history. Also released as a deluxe 3 LP Record set, it features songs mostly spanning the years 1950-1961, hand-selected by Guralnick, who also wrote an exclusive track-by-track essay for the release. Mostly spanning the years 1950-1961, the set shines a light on Phillips' unique approach to recording, his cosmic genius, and revolutionary role in the evolution of blues, country, R&B, gospel and the birth of rock 'n' roll. Featuring big hits, near misses, and never-even-close tracks.

There have been several attempts at an Elvis Presley remix album, none of which have worked. This one does! The songs don't and were never intended to replace the original masters, nothing ever could, but to my ears Sony Music have succeeded where others have failed – they have produced an album that that while remaining faithful to the style that was Elvis Presley have created a new listening experience. And this is what the album is, a new listening experience, not a replacement of his body of work. And importantly it is an album. One that Elvis would have - could have - gone into the studio to cut.
We'd like to announce Volume 3 of our very well received series 'Bicentennial Superstar', a brandnew TNT Records' CD release. It is going to be presented in our usual high quality standard. Out in just 10 days from now it will be a 2 CD set containing two complete shows taken from soundboard recordings. Once more we were able to use the technical power of our friends at 'Audionics' – most likely THE premium and still active label when it comes to rare recordings in best possible sound. A 16-page booklet containing all the information you need to know regarding the concerts is also included.
To be released soon is the new CD 'Back On Track Recorded live at the Freedom Hall, Johnson City', TN, March 18th, 1976 (label E.P. '
If I Can Dream' with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra has been certified as Gold Award status in Australia by ARIA. The album has so far spent 2 weeks at number 1 in Australia but faces stiff competition this week with a race for the top spot between several former No.1 acts including Kustin Bieber, One Direction, Kylie Minogue, il Divo and Kurt Cobain. Last week, for the first time since early July, an album has managed to hold on for a second week at the No.1 spot on the ARIA Albums chart, and that album was the Elvis Presley set 'If I Can Dream' with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra thus being the biggest selling album in the country two weeks running. (Chart data/stats from Gavin Ryan).

Elvis is number 1 for a second straight week in Australia. In doing so '
If I Can Dream: Elvis Presley With The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra' has
upset the recent 'status quo' of the past 13 weeks, where a new album has debuted at No. 1 each week, by going 'back to back' two weeks in a row at No. 1. Last week, 'If I Can Dream' become the 749th No.1 Album in Australia (1965 to 2015) and finally the 600th No.1 for
ARIA (1983 to 2015), plus the 396th album to debut at the top of the Albums chart.
Elvis Presley has started a second week at No. 1 in the UK with '
If I Can Dream' (Sony Music CG), featuring the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. This album did something quite rare in modern chart history by selling more in its second week than its first, with sales of 88,600, compared with 79,000 in its first week. The tally is also only narrowly behind the best weekly scorecard for any artist album this year, the 89,110 achieved by Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds' Chasing Yesterday (Sour Mash) in March.
Too Much : The British HMV Singles '57-'58 comes hot on the heels of

When Elvis signed his new recording contract in November 1955, taking him from Sun Records in Memphis, to national music giant RCA Victor, nobody could have predicted the influence he would have on the course of popular music worldwide. Elvis' pioneering, early UK singles were released on EMIs, HMV label before being moved by British Decca over to RCA/RCA Victor in 1958.
Love Me : The British HMV Singles '56-'57 (volume 1) and

FTD have released 'Live A Little, Love A Little', and our order is on the way to us. This release is in the FTD classic album series. And the news is very good indeed, Ernst Jorgensen has managed to find the session tapes for this movie, and so we believe we have a very attractive release here. The search also revealed that the vocal for 'A Little Less Conversation' used for the (Elvis Vs JXL) re-mix single, was not recorded for the
TV special –
it's actually take 2 of the song with the ending repaired. You can always learn something new!!!
FTD have released the '
Elvis In West Texas' CD containing a
soundboard recorded of the evening show in Odessa on May 30, 1976. A thoroughly great show with repertoire highlights 'Help Me Make It Through The Night' and 'It's Now Or Never' and packaged in 5" digipack with a 12-page booklet of 1976 photos.
Elvis is number 1 in Australia this week with '
If I Can Dream: Elvis Presley With The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra' topping the
ARIA album chart on debut. Amazingly, this is only Elvis' second number one album in Australia (since reasonably reliable album chart data began in 1974, and so missing so many of Elvis' 'golden' years). 'If I Can Dream' is also No. 1 in both the UK and Scotland.
Elvis Presley has topped the UK album charts for a 12th time with the '
If I Can Dream: Elvis Presley With The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra' CD. Elvis claimed the top album spot with 79,000 chart sales, giving him the second-fastest selling album of the year. Receiving the award on Elvis' behalf, the star's former wife Priscilla Presley said: 'This is an album that Elvis always really wanted to do and he would have been so pleased to know his fans are still there and they continue to love his music. The most talented team put this album together and helped us all realise an unfulfilled dream'.
Back in the mid-to-late-'90s, the Rock Legends label had been responsible for several Elvis CD projects, however, it eventually and mysteriously dissolved as per the norm given its '
bootlegt' status. The audio quality of these compact discs had largely varied from good to excellent but soundboard sources became scarce and competing with the then newly developed
Follow That Dream label proved difficult, if not impossible. Around 2013, the label resurfaced (suspected under new management) with several re-releases in the way of such titles as From Richmond To Greensboro, No More Feedbacks, and most recently with clearer audience recordings on Las Vegas' Voice Volumes 1 and 2, among others.
Here is the Australian TV Commercial For 'If I Can Dream' from Sony Music.
The numbered, limited edition 'If I Can Dream'/'Bridge Over Troubled Water' 45RPM Vinyl Single' has debuted at No. 1 on the UK's Vinyl Single Chart. Probably it does not take huge numbers to make this chart, but it is a number 1 just the same as we start to watch the global impact of the new 'If I Can Dream: Elvis Presley With The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra' CD. We have a small number of this single in stock now.
'
If I Can Dream: Elvis Presley With The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra' has Elvis on the Billboard Classical music chart for the first time, with its debut at No. 17 this week. Hopes are high that the album can give Elvis another number 1 hit, and something previously unthought of, a number 1 Classical Album.
The major new CD release '
If I Can Dream: Elvis Presley With The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra' is doing well in Australia on iTunes, in all the major retailers we have spoken with and at
ElvisPresleyShop.com ... Although there is no guarantee, if sales continue as they are and no other title improves, the album looks a good chance to debut at No. 1 on the
Australian ARIA Album chart. If it does this will only be Elvis' second number one album in Australia (The album chart started in 1965). His, last, and first was ELV1S 30 #1 Hits in 2002. There is no guarantee though, and you can help!! Have you purchased the CD? If not then consider doing so before Thursday and help 'The King' top the chart in Australia.
Elvis Presley is on track to rule the Official Albums Chart once more with the new album '
If I Can Dream: Elvis Presley With The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra', which features orchestral reworkings of classic Elvis tracks by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, ahead in the race to Number 1 mid-week. If Elvis can hang on until the end of the week, it will give him a 12th chart-topping album in the UK.
Straight Arrow is very pleased to bring you, 'Solid As Rock' as a first for the label, two concerts from 1971: The Las Vegas August 27th, 1971 dinner & midnight shows. And what a delight it is to get fresh tapes from this year, and from this season, and in rather decent sound too - a rarity for early Vegas seasons. The August 27th, 1971 Dinner and Midnight Shows are taken directly from an original audience recorded master tape Straight Arrow team is always looking for rare, unknown or seemingly lost recordings. Once again, the labels researchers were successful - the Aug. 27, 1971 D/S is a completely new show, even for die-hard Elvis fans. It has never been in circulation - in any form!
Memphis, Tennessee, wasn't just Elvis' home; it was also his stage. From small clubs to large coliseums, Elvis performed in many different Bluff City venues throughout his career. Recently we looked at the
Presley family's Tupelo and Memphis homes and apartments. This week, let's look at a few of the Memphis venues where Elvis wowed his fans. Elvis' career started small, with gigs at the Bel-Air Club and the Bon Air Club. But his first official billed performance was on

Wife of the king of rock'n'roll, Michael Jackson's mother-in-law and ... it's been an extraordinary life for a woman who has been in the spotlight since she moved in with Elvis at the age of 14. Today, she says, she would rather talk about the music. She talks about the first time she saw him play live, when he made his legendary
'68 Comeback Special on TV, shortly after she had given birth to their only child,
Lisa Marie. 'I was in the audience and I looked at him and thought: 'Oh my God, I had no idea!' she says, laughing. 'I thought: 'He's really good! He's really sexy! Oh my God!'

To be released soon is the new Straight Arrow CD titled 'Bright Lights, Big City', featuring the Las Vegas, February 20th, 1973 Dinner show. This recording is taken directly from an original Rex Martin 'booth recorded' mastertape. When Straight Arrow started releasing the Rex Martin tapes a few years ago, they caused quite a sensation in the Elvis world. For years they were known to exist, but here they finally were, in a quality that's rare for off-line recorded tapes. In fact, these tapes are so good sonically, that they can easily match anything that's out there.

An
upcoming compilation of Elvis Presley's songs, newly set to orchestra, (
If I Can Dream) includes a powerful new interpretation of '
An American Trilogy', which also features Duane Eddy on guitar. Here we have a 'new' Elvis Presley recording as they have combined parts of different live performances to make the track. Listen and enjoy!!! Beginning with shimmering strings, the tune slowly unfolds to become a particularly dramatic offering on If I Can Dream: Elvis Presley With the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, due out October 30th, with the rockabilly guitarist playing some tasteful, fluttering low-end textures.
In January 2014, Vanity Fair magazine published an article showing a photo of Elvis Presley presumably taken in downtown Tupelo, Mississippi, in 1947. The article traces the origin of the photo to a woman who was walking into a drugstore to drop off some film that had one exposure left on the roll. According to the story, she noticed a young Elvis on his bike and asked him to pose, snapping her last frame of him. The woman later gave the photo to Presley family friend Janelle McComb of Tupelo, who passed along the photo and the story of how she obtained it to Elvis fan and memorabilia collector Wade Jones shortly before her death. The story behind the photo may have been correct, but the city was wrong.
Eleven-year-old Sterling Smith was keen at being idle and solemn about his watermelon business. Those two qualities worked together for the young boy during the hot Mississippi summer of 1973 when he noticed four cars parading toward his watermelon stand on Highway 51 going northbound one scalding afternoon. 'Can you imagine that? Elvis Presley was walking up to ME to see MY watermelons and I just sat there because I was being cool, while they were hot', grinned Smith. 'Some other men and women walked up to look them over too and give them a good thump. It was scorching, but I knew my melons were tasty'.
With
America, this time Ernst is giving us a representation on soundboard of Elvis' second 1976 tour, the real bonus being that neither of these 2 shows have ever been released before.
Decades after the death of Elvis Presley, all indications show that America's greatest music legend's legacy is becoming even stronger. The release of another
commemorative stamp,
new albums, international recognition and new generations of Presley fans are key indicators, but the biggest hint comes from what is happening in Memphis, Tennessee.

As well as charting on the 'Billboard Top 200' chart, the
'Elvis Presley Forever' CD compilation hit No. 2 on the 'Billboard Country Chart' and is this week at No. 23 after 6 weeks. As the CD sold out some time ago, it looks safe to assume that not a great deal of sales is required to make the country chart these days, and that there must be stock left at some retail locations, dare we say 'in the country'!! The Life And Death Of Gladys Presley, Modern Screen, November 1958.
The 'Elvis Presley Forever' CD compilation has exited the Billboard's 200 Albums chart this week after four weeks on the chart and a first week debut at No. 11. We can only wonder now how long it would have been on the chart if it had not been a limited edition and being sold out after the second week (With only dwindling stocks left in that last week). It was the highest debut for an Elvis Presley album since '2nd to None' album debuted at No. 3 in 2003. While this is a touch disappointing, pre-sale orders of the 'If I Can Dream: Elvis Presley With The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra' CD tell us that another big Elvis hit CD will be with us this year.

The
'Elvis Presley Forever' CD compilation has slumped to No. 129 on Billboard's 200 Albums chart in its fourth week on the chart. The CD debuted at No. 11 and sold 27,000 copies in its first week, before dropping to No. 22 last week. The huge drop can be attributed to the CD being sold out, and only dwindling stocks left. It was the highest debut for a Presley album in a dozen years, since his '2nd to None' album debuted at No. 3 in 2003. While this is a touch disappointing, pre-sale orders of the 'If I Can Dream: Elvis Presley With The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra' CD tell us that another big Elvis hit CD will be with us this year. We have just a few sets left unsold ...

Live A Little, Love A Little' directed by Norman Taurog, who had directed several previous Presley films. This was to be Taurog's final film. Principal photography began on 3/13/68. Locations included the Pacific Coast Highway near Malibu, Marineland, the Hollywood Citizen News building, the Los Angeles Music Center and the streets of the Hollywood Hills. The film introduced the song '
A Little Less Conversation' an alternative take of which would form the basis of a remix that returned Presley to international music sales charts in 2002.
With the '
Forever Elvis' CD sold out it should be no surprise it has had a big fall on Billboard's 200 Albums chart, and it is this week at No. 56 in its third week. We have the very last copies on the way to us now. The CD debuted at No. 11 and this was the highest debut for a Presley album in a dozen years, since his '2nd to None' album debuted at No. 3 in 2003.

This is an excellent release no fan should be without it.
The 'parade' footage is good to see as it puts you in the right context with color and b&w footage. The interviews of Elvis' Parents are well worth hearing too. The afternoon show footage is wonderful and electrifying : Here is Elvis in his prime rocking and rolling in front of 11.000 people. Highly recommended.
