The blue suede-looking cover is nice to touch and padded for thickness. The labels under the photos provide detail, but the greatest part of this book are the framed statements accompanying the photographs. This exquisite book is well suited to reflect the life of such a great man.

Bob Gray, a major leader of southern Fundamentalism, died Sunday of an unspecified cause. A picture of Bob Gray preaching against the sensuality of Elvis Presley's music appeared in a 1956 edition of Life magazine. Elvis marked a 'new low in spiritual degeneracy' according to Gray. Harold Robbins thoughts on King Creole
The process by which Robbins's A Stone For Danny Fisher, a raw novel about a Jewish boy growing up in Brooklyn and becoming a boxer, transformed itself into King Creole, a musical starring Elvis Presley as a hip gyrating New Orleans nightclub singer who gets involved in organized crime, is symptomatic of Hollywood's tendency toward bastardization. Although the movie may well be one of Elvis' best films, it bears such a slim resemblance to the original book that Paramount could have easily have saved itself the $25,000 it paid Robbins for using his novel as source material.

On the corner of Highway 51 and East Washington Avenue in Madison, a plaque has been unveiled to remember an unusual event. On June 24 1977, Elvis - who just came back from a concert - ordered the driver of his limo to stop when he saw two teens beating up a young boy. This is an excellent release no fan should be without it.
The 'parade' footage is good to see as it puts you in the right context with color and b&w footage. The interviews of Elvis' Parents are well worth hearing too. The afternoon show footage is wonderful and electrifying : Here is Elvis in his prime rocking and rolling in front of 11.000 people. Highly recommended.
