FTD October Release : Raised On Rock
FTD will release 'Raised On Rock' as a 2 CD set on October 1st, 2005. In
July they will release 'Elvis Today' along with the regular release and April
1st will see the release of 'Elvis Is Back!', 'Big Boss Man' and 'Rocking

Elvis exhibit to grace next State Fair
After nearly 50 years, the spirit of Elvis will return this year to the State
Fair of Texas, or at least his red crushed-velvet bedspread will. The bedspread,
which once lay on the King's 9-by-9-foot bed in Graceland, will be among 250
Elvis artifacts on display at the Hall of State when the fair opens next
fall.

Elvis' sixth movie was 'Flaming Star'. The film almost didn't happen. It was based on a novel written by Clair Huffaker that was published in 1958. Pre-publication, the publisher first announced the title as 'The Brothers of Broken Lance'.

USA #1 Singles Box Set
Sony BMG have now officially announced the release of the box set of Elvis'
#1 U.S. singles and that the 20 CD set is to be released this fall in the USA.
The set will include original artwork in a stunning package.

We have received the cover art for the upcoming Follow That Dream re-issue of 'Elvis is Back'. Rocking Across Texas FTD Book
We have received the cover art for the FTD book Rocking Across Texas by Stanley Oberst. 'Rocking Across Texas' features new stories, updated old stories and some especially rare photographs. Accompanying the book will be not one, but two Elvis concert soundboard recordings : the June 19, 1974 show in Amarillo, Texas and the July 3, 1976 show in Fort Worth, Texas.
Review : A Cold Night in Nashville CD
The more I listen to 'A Cold Night in Nashville' the more I can almost hear Elvis doing these songs. This is such a shame and sad than none were recorded by Elvis. Whether publishing or what exactly upset Elvis, it's worse to read of an eye witness account in Joe's Sessions 3 book where Elvis attended the studio via the back door, then after knocking a Pizza box off a speaker left immediately in disgust.
Now What
Lisa Marie Presley's upcoming album 'Now What' is due for release in the USAÂ on April 5th. 2005. Two versions of the album are being released, one with explicit and one with clean lyrics.

Graceland's Table
In July 2004 EPE invited you to submit your favourite recipe and now Graceland's Table is the first cookbook to be written with the full cooperation of EPE. In addition to recipes for Elvis' favorite foods, the book will include photographs of Elvis at home and full-color food photos taken in Graceland for the book. Released July 4, 2005.
Elvis' First Guitar For Sale
Elvis' first guitar is for sale by auction. Gladys bought the guitar for Elvis for his 11th birthday from the Tupelo Hardware Store. In 2002 a starting bid of $350,000 was not met during a Guernsey's Auction. On this occasion ATY advise us that they are wanting at least $4000,000.
Elvis By the Presleys Book
Random House will publish the book, Elvis By the Presleys in Australia on May 2. Along with interviews with Priscilla and Lisa Marie, taken from the CBS special, the book will include a lavish collection of personal photos, memorabilia, handwritten notes, selections from scrapbooks and previously unseen shots of Graceland.

FTD Updates
Ernst Jorgensens "Sun-project" will probably be released at the end of this year. The album "Raised On Rock" is listed high on the "updated albums" list, but no release date has been planned yet. Other future projects for the FTD label are the updated albums of 'Something For Everybody', 'Pot Luck" and 'Promised Land'.

Ebony's Double, a Tennessee Walking Horse and the last of Elvis Presley's surviving horses, died suddenly on Friday, January 14, 2005. He was 32 years old.

Elvis has just hit the #1 spot on the UK singles chart with a reissue of Jailhouse Rock, and midweek sales of his latest single "One Night" suggest that he will soar to the top of the charts yet again this weekend. If "One Night" does top the charts yet again this weekend Elvis will have the 1,000th UK #1 hit and take his total chart topping hits to 20 - three more than The Beatles.
The 50 Biggest Hits In Australian Chart History
Each year one song outperforms all others to be the highest-selling single in Australia. Chart statistician Gavin Ryan has compiled the 50 biggest-selling singles in Australian chart history. 'Can't Help Falling In Love' is Elvis Presley's only entry as being the bigest seller in 1962. In 1961 Elvis had the number 2 song of the year with 'Wooden Heart'. Elvis had a single in the top 10 every year from 1959 to 1965.

The 'parade' footage is good to see as it puts you in the right context with color and b&w footage. The interviews of Elvis' Parents are well worth hearing too. The afternoon show footage is wonderful and electrifying : Here is Elvis in his prime rocking and rolling in front of 11.000 people. Highly recommended.
