'Elvis Presley: The Man, The Life, The Legend' is a very well produced, book, an excellent biography, written in an easy style (sadly with a few quite unnecessary uses of bad language), that should please Elvis fans. More importantly, it might help make Elvis acceptable to a wider audience. We can but hope.

EPE have confirmed that Elvis - The Concert producer Stig Edgren will be given
access to the re-mastered '68 and Aloha footage for use in upgrading the quality
of the picture for the '68 and Aloha material used in Elvis The Concert.
There was a FOX network special in the US on Sunday that featured Rock Fashion. Elvis was shown performing "Hound Dog" on the September 9, 1956 Ed Sullivan Show. The announcer stated how Elvis had revolutionized rock fashions with his "peg slacks, sideburns, hillbilly pompadour".

BMG Australia will release the 'Elvis Presley Artist Collection CD' on October 4. The Artist Collection is a new mid-price series which includes one Elvis Presley CD. BMG will release 13 other artist CD's and seven DVD's at the same time.

Johnny Bragg, the leader of the Prisonaires, a singing group of Tennessee State Penitentiary inmates whose R & B music helped start Sam Phillips's Sun Records and influenced Elvis Presley, died in Nashville on Wednesday. He was 79.

Ticket sales were disappointing this year and 2005 could be the last year for the Elvis Presley Festival, organizers say. The Downtown Tupelo Main Street Association has reported a loss of $5,465 for the 2004 festival. It was sixth year of the event which concluded Saturday.

seven songs are from the dinner show on September 3, and the remainder of the CD
is from the midnight show. The reason for this splitshow CD, is that these two
segments are the only known recordings done professionally.
Billboard salutes Elvis Presley and the 50th anniversary of rock'n'roll, with

When an RCA Records publicist called Alfred Wertheimer to ask him to photograph the studio's new recording star in 1956, Wertheimer said, 'Elvis who?'
She left her Elvis records, scrapbooks and her tube of "Love Me Tender" lipstick in a box under the bed at home when she entered the convent to become an Ursuline nun. The year was 1959. Sister Anne Michelle Mudd was 18.

Today, during a star-studded celebration at Elvis' Graceland mansion in
Memphis, collectors were finally able to see the highly anticipated coin and
stamp collection honoring the 50th anniversary of "That's All Right."
The October 1 release from the FTD label will titled 'Closing Night' and will be
a soundboard recording of Elvis' show at the Hilton Hotel, Las Vegas September
3, 1973. The first seven songs are recorded at the Dinner show the same day.
Double Trouble will be released at the same time. Tracklisting and cover art
added.
On August 24th 2004 J.A.T. Publishing will release over a 650-page book that is the ultimate account of Elvis Presley's recording career, author Joseph A. Tunzi's long awaited Elvis Sessions III.
The "Return To Splendour" DVD features 8 mm movies of Elvis on and off
stage in the late 1960's and during the touring years in the 1970's.

Elvis' most critically acclaimed performance as an actor was in what is considered (rivaled only by 'Jailhouse Rock') the best of all the films
he starred in - 'King Creole' (1958).
On November 6, 1960, Elvis flew to California to begin working on pre-production for his seventh feature film 'Wild In The Country'.
Elvis' tenth movie was 'Kid Galahad', filmed in 1962 for United Artists. The basic concept of the Wallace story was kept, but there were some alterations, such as changing the name and pre-boxing occupation of the title character.
Elvis Presley's fifteenth movie was "Viva Las Vegas' which was filmed July 15 - September 11, 1963. It opened nationwide on June 17, 1964 and became Elvis' highest grossing film ever. It co-starred Ann-Margret.
Elvis' eighth film was 'Blue Hawaii', filmed in the tropical paradise of the Hawaiian islands of Oahu and Kauai. With fourteen songs, more than any other Elvis film, the soundtrack album spent a total of 79 weeks on Billboard's pop album chart, with 20 of those weeks at #1.
"Charro!" was Elvis Presley's twenty-ninth movie and the only one in which he did not sing. His singing voice is heard only over the credits performing the title song. The song "Charro!"
Elvis Presley's thirtieth movie was shot in 1968 and was called 'The Trouble With Girls (And How To Get Into It)'. It was the only Elvis movie to have a subtitle in its name.
Elvis Presley's ninth movie was 'Follow That Dream'. It was based on Richard Powell's 1957 novel 'Pioneer, Go Home', the story of the Kwimper family, who homesteaded on land along a newly built highway in Florida.
Elvis Presley's thirty-first and last film as an actor was 'Change of Habit'.
Elvis Presley's nineteenth movie was 'Harum Scarum' (MGM, 1965), also known by one of the working titles as 'Harem Holiday'.
Elvis' second movie and his first in color was the 1957 Paramount film 'Loving You'. A young truckdriver Deke Rivers (Elvis Presley) is discovered as a singer by a press-agent, Glenda Markle (Lizabeth Scott) during an election-campaign. She contracts him for a band. His success grows bigger from performance to performance, but he has to choose between the press-agent, who is responsible for his success, and the female-singer of the band, Susan Jessup (Dolores Hart), who he likes very much.
Elvis' third movie was the 1957 MGM film 'Jailhouse Rock'. The story was written by Nedrick Young, who won numerous awards, including an Academy Award for 'The Defiant Ones'.
Not surprisingly, Elvis' fifth film, his first after serving two years of active duty in the U.S. Army, was was entitled 'G.I. Blues' and was set in Germany.
'Elvis And The Stars' will contain many rare and unpublished photos and is the first ever A-Z book, to sum up all the details of every personality Elvis met in his life, in a compact form with a picture of Elvis and the person written about.

'68 Comeback Special'
DVD on top on the Australian ARIA DVD Music chart for the second
week in a row. The CD single,
'That's All Right' has slipped out of the
top 50 on the ARIA singles chart and is this week at #57. Elvis At SUN is
#99 on the album chart after being at #69 last week.

The 'parade' footage is good to see as it puts you in the right context with color and b&w footage. The interviews of Elvis' Parents are well worth hearing too. The afternoon show footage is wonderful and electrifying : Here is Elvis in his prime rocking and rolling in front of 11.000 people. Highly recommended.
