Have you heard how differently the bonus show on the second CD has been mixed when compared to Viva Las Vegas 2nd CD? On the 2007 released show, FTD tried to give it a more 'contemporaneous sound picture, placing the drums on the center, while on this FTD release, just to continue with the historic concept of the release, they have mixed it in the 1969 fashion, placing the drums on the left channel, and overall placing the instruments and the rest - emulating the very good and vintage original mix on the In Person album (the most charasteristic touches are the placing of the instruments and the volume level of the Sweet Inspirations, higher than usual and virtually the same as on the In Person original album on CD 1). The second CD benefits from the fact that FTD were able to work with the master reels and the sound is slightly better than on disc one, but mix-wise there is no much difference between the In Person LP and the bonus show. A nice gesture by a great engineer. Hear it by yourselves. For me the best ever sounding complete vegas 69 show.
Elvis In Person is a Special Edition Double CD in the FTD Classic Album Series and includes bonus songs recorded live in Las Vegas in August 1969 plus disc 2 is the complete show from August 22, 1969 (dinner show), mixed and mastered by Vic Anesini.
I'll Remember You is a soundboard recording of the midnight show from February 3, 1973. This is a Las Vegas engagement that has not previously been covered by FTD, and the release is in line with our policy of releasing at least one show from every Las Vegas/Lake Tahoe season and every tour. As most of you know we unfortunately don't have soundboard recordings from every show, but we are still trying to find more.
Elvis only sang I'll Remember You at the dinner show and not at the midnight show. Therefore the song is included as a bonus song on the new FTD release. Elvis in great spirits for this show andf the sound quality is outstanding on this release.

This is an excellent release no fan should be without it.
The 'parade' footage is good to see as it puts you in the right context with color and b&w footage. The interviews of Elvis' Parents are well worth hearing too. The afternoon show footage is wonderful and electrifying : Here is Elvis in his prime rocking and rolling in front of 11.000 people. Highly recommended.
