FTD Releases Delayed
FTD has advised that due to a manufacturing issue, the planned release of Elvis: 'Girl Happy' 2-LP Vinyl Record (Limited Edition) and the reissue of The Last Tours Vol. 1 and The Blue Hawaii Sessions CDs will be delayed by at least 3 weeks. FTD will update us when a precise ETA is possible.

Now released are the 2025 Record Store Day releases from the French V.P.I. label. Elvis 1960 : Everybody's Got the Fever and Sings Sid Tepper & Roy C. Bennett - Just for Old Time Sake. Elvis Presley, hailed by Bernstein as 'the greatest cultural force of the 20th century', could sing anything. This unique triple album features 54 tracks, mostly alternate takes, showcasing his versatility and revolutionary impact on music and society in an unprecedented collection. Triple album 1 red, 1 yellow and 1 red and yellow with cloud effect, limited edition of 2,500 copies.
Elvis: Las Vegas - 'Down In The Alley' Opening Night 1974 from MRS
'Memphis Recording Service' (MRS) will release a CD Deluxe and 2LP Gatefold in both black and clear vinyl titled 'Elvis: Las Vegas - 'Down In The Alley' Opening Night 1974' in June 2025. The CD features Elvis' opening night show at the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel on 19 August 1974 at the start of his eleventh season, during which he performed an almost completely revamped setlist. For the first time ever, the original recording has been remastered and mixed into stereo. The accompanying booklet features rare photographs and memorabilia from the event and also includes liner notes that set the scene.
MRS Camden CD Re-issues 1969 and 1970
The Memphis Recording Service announced the release of budget editions of their 'Las Vegas - August 1969' and 'Las Vegas - January Thru February 1970' albums on their Camden sub-label. These albums, housed in digi-sleeves, will be released in April 2025. Publicity for the August 1969 show stated: A captivating performance from Elvis' first Las Vegas International Hotel engagement from August 3, 1969. The digisleeve includes a bonus booklet.

Near the start of his extensive tour on 3rd March 1974, Elvis made a major appearance at one of the country's biggest venues, The Astrodome in Houston Texas, entertaining well in excess of 88,000 fans that day. The CD contains Elvis' performance from the occasion and for the first time ever, this recording is presented in stereo. The booklet includes rare photographs and memorabilia from the event which set the scene for this historic performance.

The accompanying booklet includes general background notes as well as presenting rare photographs and memorabilia dating from this short tour. 'Memphis Recording Service' (MRS) on its alternate budget label, MRS CAMDEN, has released the CD 'Elvis Presley Made In Germany – Private Recordings'.This is a 'best of' CD version taken from the original 3CD version of 'The Complete Private Recordings' originally released in 2019.The CD features personal recordings taken from a recently discovered tape made by Elvis while stationed with the US army in Germany in January 1959. They also include early renditions of songs Elvis would record formally years later.

Elvis Presley The Complete 1950's Studio Masters 4 CD Set from MRS
'Memphis Recording Service' (MRS) will re-release its remastered tracks on The Complete 1950's Studio Masters 4cd/digi on its alternate budget label, MRS CAMDEN on 19th July 2024. This 4CD set contains the complete master studio recordings of Elvis Presley from the 1950s. It includes personal acetates, cut in 1953 and early 1954, all of his early Sun recordings from 1954-55, as well as every RCA studio master and movie studio soundtrack recording made between January 1956 and June 1958. The set also contains bonus tracks of recordings made at radio stations, as well as alternate movie soundtrack recordings.
Elvis The Complete RCA Studio Masters 1960-62 Plus Session Out-takes 4 CD Set
'Memphis Recording Service' (MRS) will re-release its remastered tracks on The Complete RCA Studio Masters 1960-62 - Plus Session Out-takes 4cd/digi on its alternate budget label, MRS CAMDEN on 19th July 2024. This 4CD set (previously released as 'Back in Living Stereo 1960-62') pays tribute to the recordings Elvis made once he returned home from Germany in March 1960, after his stint as a soldier in the US army (1958-60). These recordings were the first stereo recordings of Elvis issued to the public. The CDs contain remastered tracks of all the 1960-1962 master recordings from RCA Studio's in Nashville. As a bonus, 2 CD's contain rare material of studio session out-takes.

Included we see a live performance of the elusive Long Tall Sally seen here for the first time ever. + Plus Bonus DVD Audio.
This is an excellent release no fan should be without it.
The 'parade' footage is good to see as it puts you in the right context with color and b&w footage. The interviews of Elvis' Parents are well worth hearing too. The afternoon show footage is wonderful and electrifying : Here is Elvis in his prime rocking and rolling in front of 11.000 people. Highly recommended.
