Elvis Presley CD News | The latest CD news about Elvis Presley, The King of Rock 'n' Roll.
FTD have released 'Elvis: From Georgia To Florida' a 2 CD soundboard concert set in 5" digipack featuring Elvis in great form from his shows at the Coliseum in Macon on April 24, 1975 and Lakeland on April 27, 1975.
Over the years there were many duets released with Elvis, during his life, but even more, after his death, many 'Stars' wanted to do a song with 'The King'. CMT is proud to present, 'Elvis: Duets And Harmonies' CD, this incredible release, which has original duets, rare 'harmony' versions and some newly made duets not released on any CD! Duets include: Lisa Marie Presley, Connie Francis, Ray Charles, Cliff Richard, Anita Wood, Dale Watson, Kitty White, Charlie Hodge, Michael Buble, Nancy Sinatra, Ann Margret, J.D. Sumner, Barbara Streisand, Dolly Parton, Helene Fischer, Jerry Reed, Celine Dion, Shaun Nielsen, The Gatlin Brothers and Glen Cambell!
We all remember the 'good old days' when FTD released their first releases like 'The Jungle Room Sessions', 'Fame and Fortune' and 'Out In Hollywood'. Those CDs were in our players for weeks, due to all the unreleased stuff, great sound quality and last but not least the fact there were a lot of complete outtakes never heard before. After a while, although the releases were still fantastic, we got more and more CDs with lots of outtakes from the same songs, great for collecting, but listening pleasure was a bit less fun...
Time for some action!
Sony Music will release a Complete August 1969 Elvis Presley Live Recordings Boxset this year.
Elvis' love for singing harmony has its roots in his love for gospel choirs. It is absolutely common and even necessary to be able to sing harmony when you do gospel songs unless you are always on lead vocals. From the very early stages of his career the 'King' never really needed to do any harmony part.
is pleased to announce the release of 'Elvis: From Georgia To Florida

The Classic Elvis Presley Bootleg Collection Vol. 1 is a sublime 6 cd box set with 6 classic Elvis Presley bootleg albums. These were the albums in the late 1970s and 1980s that fans were longing for, cause it presented much better ( and rarer!) material than Elvis' own record company released in those days. This stunning box contains miniature albums of the original releases and includes all the original album tracks, digitally remastered. Still many of these tracks are unreleased by Elvis' official record company.
'Guaranteed To Blow Your Mind', originally released in the late '90s was the very first outing of the famous March 18, 1974 performance in Richmond Virginia. At the time it was probably the best sounding soundboard recording available. And it still is!

Elvis sings it reasonably well and it was the highlight of the concert. This CD is presented in 3-panel digipak. Due to the lack of quality photographs from the Hampton Roads concert, great collection of various high-quality concert shots from Summer of 1976 has been used. Now 'All Things Are Possible' is available on this deluxe double vinyl album. It mainly contains the January 27, 1971 12.00AM performance. These recordings are among very few known soundboard recordings from 1971. Now this remarkable show is available on this deluxe vinyl album and it's a beauty! And of course the show is included on CD too. The show is remastered and updated in the best way possible! This release is very limited and is available in red or blue vinyl presented in a gatefold sleeve. Get it while you can and add this awesome DAE product to your collection.
In 1980 Felton Jarvis
, Elvis' record producer for the last decade came to the remarkable idea to freshen up some of Elvis' recordings. The idea was to add total new backing tracks to Elvis' voice. This resulted in the 1981 record release of 'Guitar Man'. You either hated it or you loved it is probably the right thing to say about the album. Felton was convinced Elvis would have loved it. The title track 'Guitar Man' written and first performed by Jerry Reed
was one of the tracks considered for the album. Jerry Reed was part of the original recording by Elvis in 1967 and now Jerry Reed was back in the studio with Felton Jarvis to work on the new album. Besides the guitar work he also recorded a 'duet' version of the song.

Victrola label is proud to present 'Elvis: April 10 1972, Richmond' a 2 CD Set containing Elvis' powerhouse concert in Richmond. Welcome to another spectacular 'Elvis On Tour' release, brought to you by the Victrola label. Our recent 'Greensboro, April 14, '72' release was very well received, despite some reviewers failing to point out the fact that we presented a genuine, recently prepared, unreleased mix of the show as well as unreleased bits and pieces of the rehearsals on disc two. The April 10, 1972 Richmond, VA concert was released several times by various labels. Only two releases stands out: original 1995 Vicky label CD 'Carry Me Back To Old Virginia' - first ever release of this show in mono (incomplete) and 2008 Madison label CD 'Red Hot In Richmond' - first release in original 1972 narrow stereo (complete). The Richmond concert was never available in professionally remixed quality - until now! For the first time, these are actual multi-track master recordings that have been used as a source for this show.
'The Sound Of Your Cry' together with its American equivalent 'Greatest Hits Volume 1' always brings back some fine memories. The unique mixes on these two albums make these albums everlasting fan favorites. 'The Sound Of Your Cry' (The album) has never been available on CD until now. Added are the tracks that were featured on 'Greatest Hits Volume 1' that were not featured on 'The Sound Of Your Cry'. All versions are the correct versions as featured on the two albums and some are still unique to these albums only. For example the extended version of 'It's Only Love' and the unique edit of 'What'd I Say' are among the gems that make this album unique. Also worth mentioning are great mixes of 'Angel' & 'Steamroller Blues'. Probably the best compilation album to date.

CMT stays close to their 'Spliced Take' concept on this new release, although this is an album which stands on its own. While editing this album they have made all songs 'blending in' so you will get the feeling as if you are in the actual session with no pauses. All tracks from the 'Stax Sessions' have been included in this 2 CD set.
One of the highlights is a breathtaking version of 'Sweet Angeline' which has a longer intro and an instrumental break featuring Kathy Westmoreland, Other must haves are longer intro's for 'Just A Little Bit' and 'I Got A Feeling in My Body' and a new ending for 'It's Midnight'. Rehearsals go straight into the songs, and there are some funny portions mixed in. If you liked the previous CMT releases you will LOVE this one, and we guarantee it will not leave your player before (and after) 2019!!
Elvis: 'Wonderful Winter Wonderland' is a spliced take special release and is another winner in the great series and needs no further introduction. One thing we do want to mention is the newly created 'harmony' version of 'The Wonderful World of Christmas', although there are no outtakes available the CMT team managed to make a very different sounding track, where even the vocal ending is far different then the master take! Also just listen to the newly overdubbed version of 'Merry Christmas Baby' which has been re-created from THREE different overdub versions. All the other tracks are spliced very well, with longer intros.

This is an excellent release no fan should be without it.
The 'parade' footage is good to see as it puts you in the right context with color and b&w footage. The interviews of Elvis' Parents are well worth hearing too. The afternoon show footage is wonderful and electrifying : Here is Elvis in his prime rocking and rolling in front of 11.000 people. Highly recommended.
