Warner Home Video have announced the US Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD release of 'Jailhouse Rock' and 'Viva Las Vegas' on 18th September 2007. Arriving just over a month after the new Deluxe Edition DVDs, Warner continues their commemoration of the 30th Anniversary of Elvis Presley's passing, with the high definition release of two of his most popular films.

The films are presented in 1080P Widescreen with optional English SDH, French and Spanish subtitles. Both titles have been digitally restored and feature new 5.1 remixes while extras are expected to match the new Deluxe Edition DVDs (details here). Using BD-25 Blu-ray Discs and HD-30 HD DVDs full specs are TBC.

This is an excellent release no fan should be without it.

The 'parade' footage is good to see as it puts you in the right context with color and b&w footage. The interviews of Elvis' Parents are well worth hearing too. The afternoon show footage is wonderful and electrifying : Here is Elvis in his prime rocking and rolling in front of 11.000 people. Highly recommended.
