On August 17, 1977 Frank Sinatra was singing at the Musical Theater, in Alpine Valley, Wisconsin. The Orchestra was conducted by his pianist Bill Miller.
After the Milton Berle opening act, Sinatra sang 8 songs before starting his usual concert monologue. While speaking, he made a pause and said :
'At the risk of being sad for two seconds, I drink a toast to a wonderful fellow who left us yesterday. Who did so much for American music. I knew him well. I knew Elvis for maybe 12 years 12 to 14 years and he was . . . We all know what he has done in his career but I knew him as a man. He was a gentle, good man. Good man, fine man. Very gracious. Generous in every sense of the word. Things that people had never even heard about. Helping organisations and children's hospitals. I knew about that with that fellow. He was some kind of cat. I hope that God is good to him'.

The afternoon show footage is wonderful and electrifying : Here is Elvis in his prime rocking and rolling in front of 11.000 people. Highly recommended.
