Writing for the King: The Songs and the Writers Behind Them
'Any good singer that's smart knows where his material comes from and
then where to go get it', adds Fike. 'It's a business. Elvis was
respectful of the writers. He loved Mort Shuman, Doc Pomus stuff and Mike Stoller and Jerry's Leiber
stuff. He also liked Don Robertson's music, which was very country.
When material came in from any of those writers, he would listen to it
real fast'.

EPE's Todd Morgan Dies at 45
Todd Morgan, Graceland's longtime media voice, died inside his East Memphis home Saturday night. The 45-year-old spokesman appears to have died of a massive heart attack, according to Kevin Kern, Director of Public Relations for EPE. Updated.

George Klein Own's Elvis Duets
George Klein owns three duets he acquired from Felton Jarvis' widow after Felton Jarvis Died. The duets with Larry Gatlin ('Help Me'), Jerry Reed ('Guitar Man') and Carl Perkins' ('Blue Suede Shoes') were produced after Elvis died as part of Felton Jarvis' 1980 -1981 'overdub' project from which we got the 'Guitar Man' album.

Mary Ann Mobley the former Ole Miss majorette, Miss Mississippi and Miss America who was the co-star of two 1965 Elvis movies. 'The first day I came onto the set I was nervous because it was my first movie... I thought I was not pretty enough to be in movies, but I loved doing musicals' ... But the first day, Elvis said, 'Where's Mary Ann's chair?' And in the twinkling of an eye, so to speak, a chair with my name on it miraculously appeared. And I felt accepted'.

That's The Way It Is + The Way It Was Tracklisting / Cover Art
We have received the tracklisting and cover art for FTD's two CD releases due out in April. FTD will release a 2 CD version of That's The Way It Is in their Classic album series (7" digipack with booklet) and The Way It Was, a re-release the CD originally included in the 'The Way It Was' book. This will be a regular 5" CD.

The Lisa Marie - Convair 880 Jet
On April 17, 1975 Elvis bought a Convair 880 Jet recently taken out of service by Delta Airlines for the then-substantial sum of $250,000. With complete refurbishing the total exceeded $600,000. He immediately rechristened it the Lisa Marie.

Elvis Presley greatly admired Jackie Wilson and first saw him perform in 1956 in Las Vegas while Jackie was lead singer with The Dominoes. Elvis really liked Jackie and thought he was a terrific showman. Likewise, Jackie greatly admired Elvis.
