Mike Stoller praises Spankox remix
Mike Stoller, the composer of 'Jailhouse Rock' the composer of 'Jailhouse Rock' recently met the Italian DJ Spankox who produced Elvis Re: Versions.
His reaction on the remix of his classic 'Jailhouse Rock' was: 'It's a fantastic album; I wonder how Spankox managed to do this incredible job. Thankyou to Spankox for the great 'Re:Version' of the song that I wrote with Jerry Leiberin 1957, Jailhouse Rock: 'I love it!'.
Following the Baby Let's Play House remix a full CD album of remixes is to be released. The Reversions album is actually much more than a remix album: all the songs have been carefully reworked and rearranged using the latest technology but keeping intact the original feel of Elvis' music.
The result is an unprecedented approach to the music of The King of Rock 'n' Roll: it's 'Elvis as you've never heard him before'. This is a special limited edition of the album, featuring a high quality cardboard cover, a 24 pages booklet and a specially printed PVC case.
Starting from analog 2" tape copies of old original master tapes Spankox has created a new and unique soundscape for Elvis, somewhere inspired also by the recent Beatles 'Love' album produced by George Martin: for example, you might spot some parts of a song playing in another and viceversa.
The enhanced CD also contains as bonus the official videoclip of the song Baby Let's Play House (Spankox Re:Version). The RE:VERSIONS album will deliver Elvis to a new generation of music fans in an unexpected, cool and compelling way but will also allow the old generation fans to rediscover Elvis under a new light.

This is an excellent release no fan should be without it.
The 'parade' footage is good to see as it puts you in the right context with color and b&w footage. The interviews of Elvis' Parents are well worth hearing too. The afternoon show footage is wonderful and electrifying : Here is Elvis in his prime rocking and rolling in front of 11.000 people. Highly recommended.
