Elvis Presley has entered the Billboard Top Christian album chart at #1 -- a first for the legendary artist -- with 'Where No One Stands Alone', a groundbreaking new album on RCA/Legacy celebrating the singer's everlasting love of gospel music. The new collection is also #1 on the Billboard Physical Albums chart and the Billboard Vinyl Albums chart.

While three contemporary gospel albums recorded by Elvis, 'His Hand In Mine' (1960, RIAA Platinum), 'How Great Thou Art' (1967, RIAA 3x Platinum) and 'He Touched Me' (1972, RIAA Platinum), were released during the artist's lifetime, 'Where No One Stands Alone' is the first Elvis album to hit #1 on the Billboard Christian album chart. Elvis Presley's religious recordings -- singles, EPs, albums, compilations -- have sold approximately 300 million copies in the US alone with '(There'll Be) Peace In The Valley (For Me)' and 'Crying In The Chapel' each selling more than 20 million copies.

Ten Elvis albums have hit #1 on the Billboard 200 while seven Elvis album titles have reached #1 on the Billboard Country chart.

'Saved' is an energetic gospel-rock call-and-response tune with some fun rhythmic twists, sassy lyrics and Darlene Love jumping in on background vocals. And in classic Elvis fashion, the king testifies as he gives up his errant ways.

Love, who first sang with Elvis on his 1968 NBC television special, shares, 'I had the honor to perform a terrific version of Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller's 'Saved' on the popular ABC TV show Shindig in 1965 with The Blossoms as the lead vocalist. Though we never recorded it officially it predates Elvis' version which I sang background vocals for with the group'.

Elvis Presley once said, 'Since I was 2 years old, all I knew was gospel music. It became such a part of my life, it was as natural as dancing. A way to escape my problems, and my way of release.' We can feel the glory!

The album also includes a new duet with Lisa Marie Presley, Elvis' daughter, on the title track'. Since I was two years old', Elvis Presley once said, 'all I knew was gospel music. It became such a part of my life, it was as natural as dancing. A way to escape my problems, and my way of release'.

It was gospel music that most ferociously stoked his musical passions, even as his unique synthesis of country, popular and rhythm and blues styles made him an idol to millions around the world. Friends and family would often recall hearing Elvis sing gospel tunes at home and to warm up before concerts.

A year into his contract on RCA Records, Elvis recorded his first gospel sessions, issued as the EP Peace In The Valley and on Elvis' Christmas Album in 1957. Three full-length gospel albums followed: His Hand In Mine (1960), How Great Thou Art (1967) and He Touched Me (1972). Each of these LPs transcended the modest sales expectations for gospel albums, earning Presley platinum or multi-platinum certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America. How Great Thou Art and He Touched Me also earned Elvis his sole competitive Grammy Awards.

This was his favorite genre – no question about it. He seemed to be at his most passionate, and at peace while singing gospel. He would truly come alive – whether he was singing just for himself and me at home, or on stage in front of thousands of fans'. - Lisa Marie Presley (co-producer).

This is an excellent release no fan should be without it.

The 'parade' footage is good to see as it puts you in the right context with color and b&w footage. The interviews of Elvis' Parents are well worth hearing too. The afternoon show footage is wonderful and electrifying : Here is Elvis in his prime rocking and rolling in front of 11.000 people. Highly recommended.
