In Australia Viva Elvis has dropped from its debut high of No. 45 to No. 75 in its second week on the Australian ARIA Album chart while Elvis The King has continued its run of re-charting in the lower reaches of the top 100 since its release in 2007 (High of No. 4) and it is No. 84 this week (It re-charted last week at No. 70).

Elvis The King originally debuted at No. 22 in August 2007, peaking at No. 4 the following week and spending a total of 22 weeks on the chart through to January 2008. It re-charted December 2008 for 7 weeks (Reaching Platinum Sales Status). Then in 2010 it again re-charted in March and April for a total of 5 weeks. It re-charted last week at No. 70 and with it being No. 84 this week, it has now spent a total of 36 weeks on the chart.

In January this year, Elvis Presley: 50 Australian Top Ten Hits 1956-1977 debuted at No. 9 spending 8 weeks on the chart. It has since struggled to compete with several titles half its price, including 'Elvis The King', 'ELV1S 30 #1 Hits' and 'The Essential Elvis Presley'. This double CD set is the first ever Elvis Presley Australian hits compilation. Together with the 50 hit songs, an 18 page booklet containing specially written liner notes and images of original RCA releases, and CD label art inspired by his first album release, the set provides a unique insight into Elvis Presley's popularity in Australia, a country where he managed an incredible twenty-year streak of placing hits on the singles charts. Complied by local fan club Presidents David Troedson and Wayne Hawthorne. For more information on the Australian Charts got to https://charts.elvis.com.au

This is an excellent release no fan should be without it.

The 'parade' footage is good to see as it puts you in the right context with color and b&w footage. The interviews of Elvis' Parents are well worth hearing too. The afternoon show footage is wonderful and electrifying : Here is Elvis in his prime rocking and rolling in front of 11.000 people. Highly recommended.
