Elvis' 1970 Country album was a great idea, so it is a shame that with Elvis' interest in contemporary folk music he didn't release a 'Folk' themed album. For the May 1971 session Elvis had even used folk group The Nashville Edition as backing singers and selected some interesting songs to record. Now, with the release of 'Elvis Presley : Some Call It Folk' CD, for the very first time ... finally an Elvis 'Folk' album. Housed in a stunning 3 panel digipack this is a top notch Elvis CD release.

which is due early August along with the deluxe 8 CD, 2 DVD box set. This 2 CD version contains the original album, singles, bonus tracks and the previously unreleased August 12th Dinner Show.
FTD has released 'The Return To Vegas' and our order is on the way to us. This is the official release of the soundboard recording that Joan Deary planned as a double album release back in the late seventies. It's the earliest known professional recording from Elvis' 1969 engagement in Las Vegas. The original tape box has 'opening night' written on the back, but that's not the real date. Some experts believe it's from August 3, but we have no information whatsoever to suggest a certain date. However, the arrangements seem to suggest that this show is definitely several days earlier than the shows RCA recorded from August 20 and onwards.
Next up in the 'bootleg series
' CDs is Elvis In Hollywood
containing, complete masters and outtakes, the original 'Girls! Girls! Girls!' mono masters as released in 1962, movie radio trailers and promo's plus as a bonus some instrumental tracks. And a 12 page booklet with photos and recording information.
'Las Vegas, December 07, 1976' is the title of a new release of the only known available soundboard recording from Elvis' last Vegas season. Now newly remastered and for the first time available in the right speed!!! This show was first released on the cd 'Run On' in 1997. Although this is a soundboard recording, the sound quality is not very good. Whilst the sound quality is disappointing for a soundboard, the unusual circumstances of this show make it worthwhile to listen to. And as stated above, now you can hear this show for the first time on cd in remastered sound and in the right speed!
A few customers of our online shop asked us if the content of the 8 audio CD's in the deluxe box set THAT'S THE WAY IT IS will be identical to previous releases. The answer is: No, and No. Not only does this box set feature two previously unreleased live concerts, but also: all the concerts have been either mixed or remixed and mastered to establish a uniform sound, making this set one of the most ambitious Elvis restoration packages ever created, bringing together the original album, the theatrical AND home video versions of the film, six full-length concerts, rehearsal highlights and an 80 page book! Expected delivery date: August 1st, although we hope we'll have it in stock sooner - now available for pre order

Blues' masters are the original mono masters as released in 1960, including 'Tonight's All Right For Love'. Elvis was in fine form on this 'Hot August Night' of the 25th of August 1969, a performance perhaps never to be beaten. For those that only read the summery of reviews, I can be quite clear, this concert is without doubt the best live recording released to-date of Elvis Presley in 1969, and is one of the best concerts Elvis Presley ever performed - both in sound quality and performance! Why? I could say, listen to it and you will agree, but I offer you an interesting fact, it was from this concert that RCA chose to use seven of the tracks to make up the original 12 track 'Elvis In Person' album in 1969. This is 58% of the albums tracks. And this is from the good number of concerts recorded of which several have been released on CD by FTD.
Sony Music will release an 8 CD and 2 DVD box set of 'Elvis : That's The Way It Is' material in August. The CDs contain unreleased concerts however the DVDs are the same as the Warner release.
We now know the inspiration for the upcoming Song CD release, 'Bossa Nova Baby
'. A new Heineken television commercial
features the (re-mix) song Bossa Nova Baby
in what is hoped will bring demand for the CD. In the TV commercial a young man is on a unique journey set to the music of the King of Rock 'n' Roll. Elvis Presley's Bossa Nova Baby
sets the tone for a glimpse of a single man's journey to find a mysterious woman. The new ad is being broadcast in countries around the world and Elvis fans can watch the complete online
version (below) or by visiting Heineken.com.
Gravelroad Music will release 'Elvis : Let It Rock!' containing the February 23, 1971 Closing Show. The Straight Arrow label will release the 3CD set 'On A Winning Streak! : From 'booth tapes' Vol. 4', featuring three strong shows as recorded on February 17 (DS + MS) and 18 (DS), 1973 ... which means that all of it was recorded within a day. This release documents what a strain it was on Elvis' creativity and general well-being to be performing under such a tight schedule for a whole month, but it also shows how well he actually coped under the circumstances.
The Touchdown label will release 'Livin' On The Edge' a 2 CD set containing the Las Vegas, Feb.23, 1973 Dinner Show in improved sound with a second disc of Rehearsal Recordings in speed corrected, improved sound quality.

FTD will be issuing a FREE replacement disc 1 for 'Destination USA' as there was a mastering fault on the original pressing. These discs will be sent out - to us - with the new release, 'Love Me Tender'.
While we do hope many can order the replacement disc with some other new item(s), WE cannot believe that some fan clubs are not only asking their members to return the faulty disc, and at their cost!!!, they are also asking they pay postage for the replacement disc. Unbelievable!!! HERE IS our replacement procedure
Sony Music's re-release of the box set Today, Tomorrow & Forever
is a winner. Why? While it is 'cut down' it is only slightly so, the new set is about 75% the size of the original but importantly it is other than that the same 'book' type presentation, it looks identical just a touch (25%) smaller. But way cheaper than the original release. We still have a couple of the original sets -- at the same price as the new set -- but if you miss out on one of these you would have no reason to be concerned!!! As for the release itself, it is essential. If you don't have one, order now. Order here
Due for release soon in 'The Bootleg Series
' is 'Elvis On Air : Live from Memphis to Paris
'. A collection of radio broadcasts from 1954 to 1960 to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Elvis' first recording 'That's All Right, Mama', including historic, rare and unreleased recordings.
This year it's 30 years ago that the compilation album 'I Can Help And Other Great Hits' was released in the UK. It was one of the most succesful Elvis albums of the early 1980's. It was even released on picture disc and on single (both I Can Help
and Green Green Grass Of Home
housed in a poster bag) Strangely enough it was never released on CD. We are proud to present the entire album on CD for the first time, including some very hard to find bonus selections including the unreleased 12 inch version of I Can Help
. Housed in a stunning 3 panel digipack (with unseen photo's of Elvis from the mid 1970's ) this is a real 'must have' for all Elvis CD and photo collectors.
'Elvis As Recorded Live On Stage In Memphis' is the best selling CD/album of the year so far. It seems as if fans from all over the world have rediscovered this 40 year old show. Righfully so, because the new mix sounds as if it was recorded yesterday. Available in both 2 CD and 4 LP sets.

announce their 3rd release, this time a 3 CD soundboard
set, 'Look Out Jackson Town'. Again with a little help from our friends at 'Audionics' - probably THE premium and still active label when it comes to rare recordings in best possible sound - we decided once more to pick this time three shows from 'Tour Number 14' (May 30-June 10, 1975). On this brand new 3 CD set (Release Date: Early May 2014) you are going to hear the three 1975 concerts Elvis did in Jackson, Mississippi ...
